Superheroes swap their gender
Every wonder what Asterix and Obelix would look like as women? Or the Hulk? Well wonder no more... PortalComic has come to the rescue. Since 2007 they have been creating provocative calendars using male superheroes and giving them a sex change.

Want to be there now...
Over the long weekend a while ago I escaped the rat race and went to the beach. Having withdrawal symptoms right now. Misery likes company, so here is one picture of that glorious weekend.

The new MINI Countryman
OK so MINI in general brings out beautiful cars. Well you either love them or not. There is no in between.
So when I heard that there would be a new one my heart almost skipped a beat. And then I saw these pictures of the Countryman. hrmmm... It looks like a MINI on steroids. A small car trying to be big? I say this with a heavy heart, and coming from a MINI lover this is very difficult to digest, I don't think I like it... Or will it grow on me? Only time will tell.

Frida Giannini from Gucci launches own shoe collection
Repeat after me: Gucci. Gucci. Gucci.
Well before we get on a tangent and forget why I am writing this, Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini has taken all that she has knows and is releasing her very own collection of trainers in collaboration with musician and producer Mark Ronson.
With 17 exclusive, jaw dropping styles (15 shoes for men and 2 for the ladies), the Gucci Ronson series is definitely worth taking a look at.
Located on Covent Garden's Earlham Street, the shop will be open to the public from Wednesday 22 April. So make a twirl past there and uhh and ahh at all the shoes.

Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company
If there is one thing for certain it is that superheroes don't have time to buy all their super equipment that they might need to fight crime and look stylish while doing so. (Plus they kinda want to keep their identity on the down low, adding another spanner to the works).
But luckily the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company is around and now all superheroes can buy all they need from the comfort of their own homes/ lairs / coves.
Now all you superfolk can go out and get the latest in capes, secret identities, outfits and other such super equipment. The best part is that all (OK, most of) the products are real, and can be ordered. Granted, they are not all guaranteed to work but that can be looked over.
Above and beyond!

Philips Parellel Lines short films are here
In a previous post we mentioned all about Parallel Lines and how awesome this is. In short this is a short film series presented by Philips Cinema and produced by five leading directors from Ridley Scott Associates: Greg Fay, Johnny Hardstaff, Carl Erik Rinsch, Jake Scott and Hi-Sim.
There is a common theme behind the 5 films and the consumer created 6th film and that the fact that they all use the following dialogue, but as you’ll see for yourself in 5 very different ways...
What is that?
It’s a unicorn.
Never seen one up close before
Beautiful
Get away, get away
I’m Sorry
and yet each of the stories is so unique.
Take a look at them and ohh and ahh away you can go here, here or here for more.

One of the perks of working in Joburg CBD is that one of the best Chinese food restaurant is just around the corner.
If you are ever lucky enough to be in Joburg for lunch you have to try this place.
Just to make your mouth water a bit more here is the website where you can look at the menu :)
And here is an article I found which tells you a little bit more about Lucky Moo

Dr. Martens turns 50
Dr. Martens, an iconic and classic shoe that no one could ever put a foot wrong in. They are the essence of rock 'n roll and punk. And this year will be their 50th year of existence. A milestone in the evolution of fashion.
To celebrate this Dr. Martens have asked 10 different film directors to make videos of contemporary bands and musicians covering a classic song of their choice. The celebrations carry on throughout the year, so definitely keep an eye on this.
So go forth and have a look at Dr. Martens website and the videos.
