I'm not usually a big fan of Afrikaans music for obvious reasons, but somehow I really like this song. It is not the best music video in the world but compared to what is produced locally it aint that bad.

Going down memory lane

So I am feeling like a trip down memory lane is needed (and the scary thing is that many kids born now will miss the awesomeness of these things that mark my childhood).

This was on Between 10 and 5 and we love this collection by I Love Leroy. All we can say is swoon. These clothes are delicious.

Nike's Ball Man in Carlton Centre - JHB (South Africa)

The whole world is buzzing with football news, events and stuff. Nike recently unveiled their most iconic and unconventional exhibition to date: an installation depicting a man made entirely of balls. If you in Johannesburg, you can swing by the carlton Centre in the CBD and take a look at this.


The Ball Man is 21 meters high, made from 5,500 Brazil-skills balls and suspended from the ceiling of the shopping centre.

Pretty impressive. Our verdict: we like.

Nike x Kronk collab - African first

Nike South Africa unveiled its first collaboration with none other than the Cape Town based emerging artist Kronk. This collaboration has made global waves, with artists the world over representing their respective countries.

Kronk has taken South African culture to the world with his innovative mascot, crest and type face and showcasing the spirit of Africa and its love for the game and I thought that this would be of interest to you and your readers.

Last night, Itumeleng Khune, Teko Modise and Siphiwe Tshabalala all shared this moment with Kronk and officially unveiled the collaboration. Nike is asking fans in South Africa to “Bleed your Colours” and show your support for both the sport and the passion behind it.

This is a collaboration between Smirnoff and some great South African designers Bison, Jordan Metcalf, the President, One Horse Town and Dylan Jones. The result is a limited edition range of packaging. Nice.

The Last braai with Zander Blom and Adriaan Hugo

'Die Laaste Braai' (Afrikaans for 'The Last BBQ/Braai') is a functional braai sculpture piece, designed by Adriaan Hugo and Zander Le Roux Blom. This monumental object is built from black granite and steel and is available in an edition of five.

If you are in Johannesburg during this time it would be worth a pop in.
